The Rome Food Experience is a 3 hrs guided restaurant hopping tour that explores the richness of Italian cuisine and tradition with an emphasis in Roman eno-gastronomic heritage.

Food Tour of Rome Italy starts in the tucked away, but charming Jewish Quarter as many of Rome’s typical dishes have their origins in the Jewish community.  Located right in the city center, your guide will take you on a short walking tour of this beautiful area before sitting down to try some of the traditional dishes like fiori di zucca (fried tender zucchini flowers), fried artichokes and fried baccalà (fried cod) with a glass of prosecco in hand.  As you move to your next stop, it is time for what Romans call street food – pizza!

Stroll through the streets of historic Rome as you make your way to your next stop where you will sample delicious pasta dishes. Just steps away from the amazing Pantheon, this locale has been operating since 1934 and continues to be an important Roman legend and has officially been declared a historical site by the city of Rome! This is where you will try a typical Roman pasta dish called “alla Romana” – meaning the Roman style.  As you enjoy your meal, your guide will share with you the humble origins of this signature dish.  Do not be shy and allow your guide to twist your arm into trying some more adventurous pasta dishes. We promise you will not be disappointed.

This tour ends on a sweet note with a stop for gelato. Your guide will teach you how to decide which gelato makers are top-notch as they explain the ingredients of a perfect gelato! Your guide will take you to a gelateria that uses only organic ingredients; this way you can see for yourself what gelato with no additives really tastes like!

This foodie tour is a great introduction into Rome and Italy by showing you how to choose the best restaurants, gelaterias and wines; getting you set up for the rest of your trip or as a refresher to take home with you!
